Final Project For my final, I wanted to do something that was close to me. I believe in same love, though I do not partake in it. There's so much hate about it when there really shouldn't be. There are some meanings in my painting. The nail polish represents the innocence within the hand symbol of love. The words on the crack means hateful things break a heart such as "hate" and "gay" being used as an insult. The safety pin heals a broken heart.
Perspective Drawings This project was to test our perspective skills. I am not the best at that skill, but I tried. At first, I had a difficult with placement and where I could add certain things. I liked this project since it let me go with my own creativity. There's also a story behind the drawing. That a superhero called Ronnie, but he spells it Roni, so people call it Macaroni, when it's really pronounced as Macaronnie.
Abstract Between projects, we did a mini one for an abstract design. Our teacher gave us a list of different types of drawings to do. Some were a mix of hues, cone, shading, and texture. I had to "research" what some were. Overall, though, it was relaxing and a fun project to make. While I thought some were better than mine, I just said mine was "abstract" and unique.
Alebrijes This project was one that I thought was going to be easy, but turned out to be odd for me. I haven't done these type of projects before. I liked the designing part, but that making of it turned out bad. The feet were fine, but the body looks disfigured. I also found that making a lid was difficult. In the end, I like that it turned out weird looking. His name is Jay Garrick, from the TV show: The Flash. The reason is for the wings and top that looks like the helmet.
Self-Potraits We did began to draw ourselves. This is not an area in which I can do well in. I did like that we were able to do our own symbols. For mine, I did a mix of three. It represents sadness and something about race and the LGBT community. Some of my friends are proud of this. However, I still see some people at my school be rude to them, so it makes me sad. It also adds that skin color does not define me.
